Anker Solutions

Anker Solutions specialises in strategic political advice and change processes. Anker Solutions is a daughter company of BKB, with offices in Amsterdam and New York.

The namesake of BKB's research arm is Hans Anker, a strategic communications consultant. He has advised heads of state, politicians and directors from corporate and non-profit organisations in more than 50 countries.

Dutch clients include AEGON, TNT, NOS, the Consumers Association and various ministries.

In addition to a number of political candidates (including government leaders), international clients include Vattenfall (Stockholm), EMS (Environmental Media Systems, Washington, D.C.) and Dansk Metal (Danish metalworkers union, Copenhagen).

Working method
Based on years of experience, Anker Solutions developed its own methodology which largely relies on American campaign research. This involves a combination of focus groups, interviews, literature review and quantitative research. A crucial element of the research is the ongoing question of how respondents evaluate and process new information (a new fact, a policy proposal or a particular message). The goal is not only to take a snapshot of the current situation, but also to map the dynamics of public opinion.

Result
A collaboration with Anker Solutions normally results in three products:

The snapshot
What is the current situation? What are the respondents’ preferences? What is their attitude towards your company or institution? What is the prevailing perception of a particular social topic?

Dynamics and key message
An insight into the dynamics of how opinions are formed around the research topic. This knowledge also indicates the way in which public opinion could develop in the coming years. Which factors determine how opinions are formed? How can you create more support? And what does this mean for your core message?

Narrative and action toolkit
A communication strategy that outlines which narrative can best be used to respond to shifting public opinion. Anker Solutions will position your company or institution in relation to concrete actions, such as: 'if you do this, then you can count on...', 'avoid that...' or 'look out for...'
